  Melinda Crick, an Arizona native, is the accomplished owner and stylist of Switchblade Salon, which she established in August, 2005 at the age of 27. Crick earned her Cosmetology degree as a graduate of Carlos Valenzuela Academy in Scottsdale, AZ at the age of 18. She is committed to progressive and high-fashion hairstyle and color, and, as a result, she has maintained and challenged her growth in the industry, having completed advanced training and texturizing classes over the past 15 years. Melinda's commitment to art extends beyond innovative hair and makeup; she is an accomplished jeweler, specializing in beading, resin pendants with Arizona insects, and metal-smithing. Crick's flair for the avant-garde is prevalent in her formal wedding updo's and veils, custom-vintage hair accessories, and fantasy hair and makeup for Phoenix local magazines and innovative publications. Whether Melinda Crick is belly-dancing, tending her garden, raising rabbits and chickens, designing jewelry, art, or hair and makeup, she is dedicated to creating a "hairstyle that matches a lifestyle."   Michael Pierceal

  stylist

  Michael Pierceall has been an artist and professional hair stylist for over a decade, and he has been styling men and women's hair at Switchblade Salon since 2005. Michael has become known for his intricate hair designs, known as "hair tattooing", which he shaves into short hairstyles. With tattooing, Michael customizes hand-drawn designs and architectural looks into specific patterns that clients want shaved into their hair. Pierceall's artistic style is influenced by nature and architecture, as seen in his lost wax casting at http://www.piercealldesign.com. Consequently, Michael's unique hair tattooing and accomplishments as a hair stylist and colorist at Switchblade Salon exemplify his talents as a legitimate artist. Michael also has an eye for color, and he has mastered the art of vibrant dimensional hair color. Michael Pierceall's artistic capacity is clear to his salon clients, and outside of the salon he is a maker of jewelry, a master at woodworking, experienced in leather tooling, and accomplished with interior design. His works span different mediums, from hair~ to wood and metal. Michael is also a firm believer in health and exercise. When he is not busy designing hair and art, he is finding more inspiration in Nature, hiking the mountains of Arizona.
